As of right now, I will be retiring this cosplay until I decide to find a better wig/remake this cosplay.
So, unfortunately, my Zelman Clock cosplay wasn't finished in time since my dad's girlfriend was busier than I expected (she was showing me how to use her sewing machine.) So, at least I was given around 3 days nottice when that happened, so I leaned on a bunch of ideas. One of them lead me to do a Pokemon Gijinka cosplay. I started with Eevee, but realized that I had less time than I thought to prepare, so I looked up Duskull, which seemed easy and cute.
I literally put this all together in a day, thanks to a fellow classmate in my British Literature class that happened to be going last minute Halloween shopping on the day before the party. It was totally easy to put together and absolutely comfortable to wear. If it wasn't for her, I would have been stuck on what to do (I owe you one, Liz!)
WIG - Since there was NO way that eBay would ship a wig in a day, I went to a Halloween warehouse and found a discounted 'Witch Wig' for only $10. Even though it was a party wig, it was actually not that bad to wear (since I had a wig cap this time! Hur.) Although, if I manage to redo this cosplay, I'll probably be looking at a decent one on eBay.
DRESS - I went to Zellers and found this kind of shirt-dress that you would wear over leggings. At 40% off $25, I had hit the jackpot. I only had to pay $15 for it! The bones on the back were half assed sewn from some leftover fabric from my Zelman cosplay, but were mainly hidden under my long wig.
MASK - White craft foam with black acrylic paint and a thin elastic. It's amazing what foam can do at such short nottice. I bought extra materials in case I needed to make another one, but the first one I made held up both at the party and at Halloween.
TIGHTS - My classmate was looking for tights at Ardene, where they had a 3 for $10 bargain. She only wanted 2 pairs and offered the last pick to me. They were hard to see in the images, but they were dark grey, stripey tights. They kept falling down for part of the night and I had to pull them up. I wore my lacey grey and black balet flats with them at the party.
CONTACTS - I used my red contacts that I had ordered earlier this year around Anime North, but was setting them aside for my Zelman Clock cosplay for a later time. Unfortunately, my brother had decided to open them up and try to wear them at school 3 weeks before Halloween! (Grr...) As always, they were very comfortable to wear and were easy to take out. It just took a little while to get used to them as I was seeing red for about 5 minutes after putting them on.
MAKE-UP - This part was relatively an experimentation gone right. I had used my regular concealer and foundation (my skin is pale as a ghost. I kid you not) as the base before using a combination of black eyeliner, mascara, silver and white eyeshadow. The hard part was getting the eye makeup off at the end of the night... Add some black nailpolish and voila!
