I've always loved Pokemon. I was never much of a Digimon fan, but, oh boy, Pokemon was my life, let me tell you.

So, after my friend, Erika, and I debuted our Gastrodon Gijinkas, we knew we needed another "duo" cosplay for next year. Vileplume and Gloom were on the top of list (but Lugia and Ho-oh knocked it out), and became our back-up. I didn't have anything planned for Halloween at that point, so I figured I'd jusy do Vileplume. It was a dress and the "stinkweed", how hard could that be? It was simple, and I have a soft spot for Vileplumes.

I used Simplicity pattern 2502 and modified it a little so I only had to make a dress, and not a top and a skirt. I needed to save as much money as possible so I used county classic cottons for both the dress and the stinkweed ($3.99 a yard). I used ribbon to "hide" the waistline, and around the neckline to "glam" it up a little.

The stinkweed was the hardest and most annoying task to complete. I'm still not sure who I made it, so I'm not going to go into detail.

The wig is a Clover in purple from Cosworx. I love it. It's so pretty! I cut the bangs, and that's about all the styling I know how to do.

I completed it for a Halloween party I was supposed to go to, but I couldn't find the place, so I wore it to Friendly's instead. I did also wear it to school on the 30th. Many of my teachers loved it. They thought I was so cute and so purple. But, wearing it for a whole school day, with the stinkweed on my head, I had such a headache by the time I got home. Then I got sick, and decided to wear a lolita for Halloween instead of being a miserable Vileplume.

I don't know when I'll wear it again. Maybe for AnimeNEXT. It has to be worn at least once more before I'll retire it.
