I'd been thinking of making a Snow White costume for myself since making one for my friend in 2005. I had Snow White or another princess in mind for this Halloween, and Snow White won out :)
I was lucky enough to find all my fabric locally, or had it leftover from old projects. Matte satin & white swirl velvet for the collar, blue suede for the bodice, floral-printed red velveteen for the sleeves/cape, and yellow matte satin and floral printed yellow silk for the skirt.
--------
Headband - bought and covered in fabric, added the bow.
Wig - bought on ebay.
Collar - used the collar pattern from the Simplicity Snow White pattern and enlarged it. Three layers - white matte satin, interfacing and the white swirl velvet (leftover from Padme Funeral dress). trimmed in pearls. It snaps onto the bodice.
Cape - No pattern. Hand-sewn onto the bodice, and trimmed with gold scroll trim leftover from Arwen's Blood Red dress.
Brooch - bought at hobby lobby, painted gold, and sewn onto the cape.
Bodice - Used a basic corset pattern as a base, and edited it to lengthen it and also to create the upper section (to have it go over the shoulders). Spiral steel boning and laces up the back.
Sleeves - used the pattern from the Simplicity Snow White pattern for the basic shape - enlarged it because they were too small to start with. Added the light blue stripes.
Skirt - No pattern. 6 panels of light yellow matte satin and 3 of the yellow silk.
Shoes - bought at goodwill, dyed pale yellow.
------------
The only things I want to update are a few nitpicky things I didn't have time to do before halloween - add bows to the shoes, and sew some snaps to the upper back of the cape to keep it attached to the bodice.
Overall I'm really happy with it! :)
