I always said that if I ever got into cosplay, I'd want to do an Abbey Chase costume from J. Scott Campbell's "Danger Girl" comic book series. This is the result!
Abbey's "danger pants" were sewn together from two pairs of leggings by my awesome local seamstress (thanks, Ms. Le!), while I made the "DG" belt buckle you can see in the most recent photos. That was an adventure in itself: I sculpted the buckle out of polymer clay, made a silicone RTV mold from that, created a resin cast, painted it, and attached it to an existing buckle. Whew!
In addition to what I already have, at some point I'd also like to make my old leather jacket look more like the one that Abbey wears during Chapter 4 of "Dangerously Yours"; I just need to find a decent image of the "China Girl" image on the back of the Abbey's jacket for reference purposes and then go from there.
NOTE: Over the course of assembling this costume, I began going to the gym regularly and lost over twenty pounds, so there's a noticeable difference between the earlier photos and the most recent ones!
Although it hasn't won any awards, photos of my Abbey Chase costume (version 2.0) were published in the "Danger Girl: The Deluxe Edition" hardcover collection by J. Scott Campbell in 2010.
