First and foremost, no, we are not clowns.
So we decided that if we were going to enter the cosplay contest at AX, we would go big, or go home. (We are from Texas after all.) Thus was our Puppets Tutu idea conceived.
All of the patterns are custom made, as is all of the striped fabric. Surgers for the win!
Now (since I get a lot of questions about it) I will talk briefly about the wig.
-It started out as 2 long white/silver wigs. Take all of the weft off of one of those wigs, and add a couple of bottles of custom mixed acrylic ink dye and we will call that step one.
-Then, build an armature out of milliners wire, cover it with that really soft fine weave tulle, and sew it into the base of your wig. step 2.
-step 3: Dress your wig hair over your armature leaving out enough hair for her weird bang things, and making sure that none of the tulle shows through. Now you are ready to sculpt those crazy ass curls at the top. Good luck with that.
-Step 4 entails going to a craft store and buying at least 4 sheets of that plastic mesh stuff embroiders use as bases for, well, embroidery. Then take your milliners wire, sew it to the edges of said plastic mesh and bend it into a shape that will fit around the rest of your wig. These pieces of plastic will henceforth be referred to as wing-a-lings. After this, take your dyed wefts and dress them over your wing-a-lings.
-Step 5 is really hard to describe with out accompanying pictures, just know that it involves XPVC, a heat gun, a dremmel, sea foam green paint and screws. basically you make a structure that you can sew into the wig to attach your wing-a-lings to.
That's the basic gist of it. Also, if you are wondering how much hair sprays in this little guy, the answer to that would be 2 1/2 cans of Got2b Glued, extra strong. That stuff is awesome.
I also syled Uzura's and Drosselmyer's wigs.
