Poison Ivy

design from "An Innocent Guy" included in "The Killing Joke"

I wear this costume the most because I'm often asked to go around with DC groups to different events. It's fun to be Poison Ivy. ;)

The costume is relatively simplistic but just took a while. The shell is a green stretch panne torso bodysuit with chest support over a full-torso girdle. This ensured that any material showing through would be dappled green to look like leaves. The leaves down the side seams are sewn on individually for about three rows. All of the other leaves were pinned on and then glued on individually with Fabri-Tac by turning my dress form sideways and using it as a spit. It took about 8 hours to pin all of the leaves on and another 8 hours sewing and gluing them on. I pinned them all first because I wanted to make sure I had enough and that they would all lay correctly.

Shoes were found at Gabriel Bros. in Ohio and dyed green.
