Miku Hatsune

World is Mine

Vocaloid

PICTURES COMING SOON

I watched the video to the song of "World is Mine" by Miku Hatsune, and immediately fell for the outfit. It was cute, simple, but still interesting enough for me to want to try it. I had my first experience with circle skirts, so it was a good opening to another set of skills that I wanted to acquire.

The ruffles I bought pre-made, but they didn't match the stretch material, so I intend to re-make them so that the garment fits better. The "shirt" turned out a little too tight as well, so that might be remade. The skirt turned out really nicely, after an excess of pleating after the circle skirt turned out to be huuuuuge (I will never follow THAT tutorial again) I was still really happy with the result.

I used feathers for her hairpiece, but I'll probably use something a little more full for that. I used spool ribbon for her bows. I used thigh-high stockings that are not only warm but perfect for the costume, so I can wear the costume in late fall weather outside without freezing to death.

No patterns were used in this costume. As mentioned above, I did use a tutorial for the circle skirts, and I did use a sleeve that I took apart since I had no sleeve patterns available, and I wasn't about to go out and buy a pattern for just a short sleeve.

The fabric I used was a stretch knit, which draped beautifully for the skirt and allowed for a tight fit for the rest of the costume. I still have to wear something underneath because it still is a little see-through.

Once improvements are made, this'll be a very strong piece in my collection. I hope to make this a regular costume to attend conventions with.
