I was really lucky and found this perfect tracksuit on Ebay. It's an incredibly simple costume. My good friend Maryssa, who is a professional artist, drew the kanji for "ape" or "monkey" on some vinyl for me since I was worried if I did it, it would look like chicken scratch. The vinyl was then attached to the breast of the jacket. I bought the tatami flip flops at a local store.

I styled the wig from a Cosworx butterscotch Clover. There is an extension sewn down the part in the back for the pigtails. It's not incredibly nice since this is my first time doing it, but it's better than nothing. Getting the Clover into pigtails was an ordeal and I have to redo them every time I wear the wig. This is because the wig is *so* thick and slippery that they hair eventually falls out after some wearing. Once the pigtails were styled I cut the wig short trying to emulate her spiky style. While the wig does stick out, I want to do a more permanent style so I can actually spike the pigtails. There are markers on base of the wig so I know each time I put it up where the pigtails need to go.

Zanpakuto (sword):
I used a sheath from another prop sword I had and basically glued on the handle and guard into it. It sounds ghetto but I did it this way because it was a lot easier to make the costume heart guard Hiyori has and walk around a super crowded convention like Comic Con and AX (which it was made for). The handle was made from foam and the guard was made out of sculpey.
