Lunar is one of my all-time favorite games. I wore this game out as a teenager, and even made a (horrible) Luna costume when I was about 16. I felt that I owed her an apology after making such a train wreck of a costume, so I made this one!
I started Luna the day after Ohayocon and finished her the day before Katsu con, meaning I started and finished her in roughly 9 days. That's a record for me, next to DSL Azusa which took about 7 hours... *laughs*
I took an old sundress pattern and butchered the heck out of the placement of seams and darts and then I had my pattern for the dress and over vest dress thing. All of the triangles, the red trim on the sash, and the diamonds on the hat/hair wrap thing are appliqued and every edge on the applique and trim was fully satin stitched on the tightest setting. It took about 2 spools of black thread and a small portion of my soul, but I'm so proud of the results, and I'm so happy I redid Luna to make up for the awful one I made a few years ago. xD
The entirety of the outfit is made from a combination of kona and country classic cottons (with the exception of the belt, which was made from some pleather I had lying around), everything is fully lined (including the hair pieces) and all of the fur bits were fully hand-sewn.
