This is a coat I made to go over my blue suit, but it's so detailed and looks like an individual costume that I decided to give it its own costume section.

The coat is a modified Butterick pattern. I had to alter it to make it double breasted, same with the capelet. It's made out of suiting fabric and the lining is taffeta. The bias tape I made myself; it's 1" double fold. The capelet is separate from the coat and buttons closed. There is horsehair braiding in the hem and in the cuffs of the sleeves to give it a nice bell shape. The hat was bought online, but I added my own band, which is made from the same taffeta lining to match the costume.
