This is one of my favorite costumes to wear. It's comfortable and fun to dance around in!
I made everything in this costume except my wig, stockings and shoes. The ears were a pair of nekomimi I bought at Sabotencon last year, but got mauled by one of my dogs the day after I bought them. Covered in fur, though, they've got new life!
The skirt probably took the longest to make. I wanted it really flowy, so I could twirl around, but I also didn't want to have to make a petticoat to wear with it. I doubled up the fur along the bottom edge to give the skirt more of a hoop shape, which worked really nicely but was a little difficult to stitch on the machine.
My favorite pieces of this costume are the leg warmers (which are unfortunately covered by the skirt most of the time) and the wig, which has yet to tangle and was surprisingly comfortable to wear.
I debuted this costume at Con-nichiwa 2010 in Tucson, AZ, where I was awarded first place in the Master's division of the Masquerade (an honor I share with my friend Mei).
