This is part of a pair costume I did with my housemate, T; she wore Tsuna and I wore Gokudera. I made all the clothing in this costume; I had to purchase the wig, shoes, and most of the jewelry (because Gokudera has so much bling).
This costume was mostly not that difficult to make. I struggled a lot with the bandages and ended up making a corset out of them. It's really uncomfortable to wear but the effect is just right.
The garter holsters are made from boat upholstery, which is a pain to work with (I can't tell you how many needles I snapped) but produces great results. I don't recommend using this material if you're planning on hand-sewing or have a delicate machine. They dynamite sticks themselves are made from PVC pipe, wrapped with brown postal paper. The whole effect looks really good but is very difficult to walk, sit, and drive in. The holsters are also really heavy.
I have sort of a love-hate relationship with this costume. It's fun being Gokudera, but it's a very uncomfortable getup. I really have no idea how he thought he could fight in this.
This outfit was premiered at Sabotencon 2009 in Phoenix, AZ. I've since worn it to an Anifest at Mesa Atomic Comics (where I recieved Third Place in the costume contest), and to Con-nichiwa 2010.
