I found the perfect dark purple stretch twill for the dress. It is what we call the "Miyazaki bag dress" that lots of his characters wear, because it's a simple front and back dress with no fitted seams. It was a simple pattern to draft and took only one night to sew. The bow I wore is the second bow I made. It's a rectangle of quilting cotton with wire sewn inside of it to keep the shape, a faux knot, which is placed on a red headband. Underneath the dress are an old plair of white bloomers. Red slippers finish the outfit. I made the broom with a dowel rod, wood stain, raffia, and rubber bands. I could not find real broom material, but it still looks pretty good. I also customized a black cat plush to be my Jiji!
