phew, i decided to make this costume way too late in the game. My big elaborate costumes I like to give 9 months to a year to be pondered on, developed, made and that will allow time for mistakes. Such was not the case with this costume, i only had about six months from tentative musings, and then at about 3 months from the debut i really buckled down to get it done.
When mistakes happened, like the silk dyeing going wrong on the silk shirt i was about to put together, and the gutta getting everywhere...i had little time to run out buy some fake silk and then figure out how to do an alternative pretty quickly. That and the sword broke, but that was right before con, so that couldn't have been helped. Things like the wig went really well, but i've learned to stop hesitating, pick a costume i love, and give myself ample time to do it.
I still love this costume, it wasn't uncomfortable to wear at all, like i thought it would be, it was mad comfy, and i felt lovely in it ^^ I can't wait to wear it again.
