Description

I had all the materials and fabrics bought already, but being the procrastinator I am, I didn't actually START on the costume until 5 days before AX 2005.

The forehead protector and kunai I bought off ebay, and I bought dark blue sandals from Famous Footwear, superglued navy blue cloth over to make them look like the Ninja sandals. Basically, just make an extra long Navy blue "sock" with the bottom and front part cut off, glue/sew it to the shoe (a combination of tacky glue and superglue works well), and roll down the top part to make it look like the footwear in the anime. Then you can just pull on the sandals the same way you pull on a sock. The navy blue fabric I used was cotton, so it's stretchable.

I bought the pink fabric, golden cords and buttons at Ben Franklin, the red sleeve trimmings and the shiny torquoise pants fabric from Walmart. The pants are a kind of satin to make it look shiny and bright like Tenten's pants in the anime.

I didn't really have access to a sewing machine so the entire thing was hand-sewn. I used my own capris and Chinese shirt as a pattern and kind of just outlined it on the fabric. I didn't really use a tape measure, sorta just guessed and luckily it turned out pretty okay.

The Kunai holster was made by covering a cardboard box the size of a digital camera with the same blue cloth I used on my sandals, and the "bandages" were just strips of white cloth that I sewed onto my pants (it was the only way they would stay on! XD)

It took 5~6 consecutive nights of sleep deprivation to complete this costume.
