Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
Last Updated: 06-24-2003
When Braden originally asked me to do this character for the Bloodlust skit, I thought "green bodysuit, me, are you crazy!?" I agreed to do it anyway. I'm glad I did, because I actually liked this costume a lot.
I decided that I didn't trust myself to feather cut a wig properly, so I decided to have it custom made. (Later, they told me what they had done -grafted three precut wigs together- and I was like "Hell, I could have done that myself." ) When I got the wig, it wasn't quite what I wanted, so I ended up having to take it apart and do a tone of rebuilding.
I could not for the LIFE of me find stretch fabric in the right shade of green. I started out with some fabric that was neon green and tried to dye it to the right shade. After about 4 different attempts, I still could get the right shade, so I ended up spray painting it, which worked surpisingly well.
All in all I really liked this costume, and there are a lot of things I'd like to improve, so I'll definitly be bringing it out of my closet again.
