I wanted to make a better version of Rei with some improved details (For example, the stripes on the legs are stuffed with poly fill instead of just being appliques, 3D buttons on the wrist hexagons, etc...) At the beginning of this project, I HATED Asuka but during the 3 weeks I worked on this project, I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion a few times and realized the reason I hated her so much is because we're a lot alike (we both come off as extremely arrogant and self centered to suppress our insecurities) Anyway, I really like how this cosplay turned out. I ended up attending the con a few hours later than I was anticipating though because I was having some problems with the neck hole so my friend had to hand stitch the collar to the neck so I could get my head through the neck hole. LOL All in all, I think I make a pretty good Asuka. Her poses come more naturally to me than Rei's. Plus I'm thrilled that my super Scandinavian heritage works with this character.
