Cosplay Head-to-Toe:
- I used my natural hair for this one. My hair is too short for pigtails, so I decided to style it normally.
- The shirt was purchased at a generic clothing store. It's pretty basic.
- The overalls were a lucky find at a thrift store in town. No alterations were needed!
- I went with plain, black, laceless shoes in order to make my feet look more like hooves.
The Horns:
Since these were the main part of the cosplay, I thought I'd give a detailed description of their construction.
- The horn shape was taken from an image found online. It was enlarged, transferred onto bristol board, then cut out.
- I traced the shape onto hard insulation foam sheets (the kind sold at hardware stores), which were glued together to make the horns thicker and to prevent them from shrinking too drastically after sanding.
- The shapes were cut out of the foam and rounded off using low-grade sandpaper.
- After sanding, the horns were coated in several layers of paper mache. More sanding was required to ensure a smooth, even surface.
- The horns were then coated in several layers of white gesso and sprayed with glossy yellow spray paint.
- The balls in the center of the horns are marbles coated in glossy black paint. They were hot-glued to the horns, which were hot-glued to a headband.
