Final Fantasy X-2

This costume is soooo fun to wear! It's bright and obnoxiously colorful, it's fairly comfortable (other than the wig, It is heeeeeavy!), and it's Rikku! I love goofing around as Rikku.

For the wig, I used a Clover L from Cosworx in 144--and then added extentions in 25, 27 (from my old Rikku extensions), and a tiny hint of red and bleach-blonde (chopped out of my old Shalua wig). I kinda wish I could have started with 25 instead of 144, but there weren't any long wigs in 25 available on cosworx at the time I started working on the wig ^^;; Regardless, I love how the color turned out! Actually, 144 is probably more flattering for my skintone, anyway.

I actually bought much of the fabric for this outfit while I was in Tokyo. The orange is a stretch cotton so that the outfit would be both form-fitting and dyeable. The purple is just some plain cotton (I think...I forget exactly)óIím glad it pleated so well! The belt is basically a sleeve of white vinyl that I put over an old belt (my old thief Rikku belt, actually. Itís like my old Rikku costume is reincarnated into this one, hehe).

Itís a very minor detail, but I love my headband! I used satin stitch for the lines, because I just love the way satin stitch looks. I used different colors of purple to add my own little personal touch to the costume.

The gradients are just trial and error using both dip-dyeing and spray dyeing (I prefer the dip dyeing method).

The feathers I lucked out onóthere is an ebay site that sells small plumes of feathers and they just so happened to have plumes of mixed purple and black ones! They were perrrrfect and I didnít have to buy some huge bulk bundle like many other feather stores make you do.

The boots are an old pair of leopard print boots Iíve had and have been using for cosplay for yeeeeears. I just love the shape of them, so I make bootcovers for them for different costumes. Unfortunately, they kind of died on me at Otakon, but hopefully I can fix them!

I was so happy that my friend Sorahana ran around with me as Yuna! Itís so fun to mess around as these two characters together. I had so much fun and I really enjoyed making and wearing this costume :)
