THIS COSTUME. HAS A LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO.

My friend cosplays Gintoki, and has set me as Ayame for her group. One day we were chatting and I noted that Ayame should just make clothing out of Shounen Jump pages and wear it so Gintoki would pay more attention to her. Skip to a few months later where Project Runway has a challenge where the designers must make clothing out of newspaper. There sparked the idea.

So yes, this WHOLE cosplay is made out of SHOUNEN JUMP PAGES <33 It's undoubtedly the most creative cosplay I've ever done, and I'm super proud of it although it hasn't won an award, haha.

All the pages of the dress are decoupaged onto a muslin base, which is the actual gown. The obi is made out of decoupaged cover pages and stuck to craft foam. The shoes are covered with jump as well, and the flower itself is cut up jump pages. The jewelry consists of the color pages inside each Shounen Jump issue, chained together as if they were candy wrappers. The chains from the necklace and glasses holder were made by me, and the original stars were made by my friend who in addition was my Zenzou for the masquerade routine.

Overall, SUPER happy with my results, and hope to wear this cosplay again for a Gintoki! ;D <3
