I'm aware that there are probably enough people who have cosplayed Bleach and Matsumoto.
I'm also aware this photo sucks. Big time. It the only one I have right now, since we were all so hyped to go we forgot to take photos of ourselves before we left.
I'll take some better photos next year when i'm not heavily pregnant :B and without my glasses on ^_^
However, this was my first offical cosplay in public.
I travelled across the country to visit my dear friends who moved in Jan '10 and we went to the Perth Supanova. She already had a Rukia costume so I wanted a character to dress as from Bleach aswell. He bought an Ichigo outfit to match us too (In the end he forgot his wig an turned himself into Iba)
I picked Matsumoto purely because she didn't have too many hassles as far as outfits go and I guess I look the most like her (or Orihime)
And with such a short timeline to get everything ready in, I wanted it to be something easy/normal.
I didn't make a sword because of the rules and regulations at Supanova.
Almost all items except the wig and the sandals are made by me.
I butchered a dangley necklace I found and added a jump ring from a keyring to make the neck chain, mwah ha ha! Perfect round necklace that sits where it belongs!
When I put the socks on I cut them at the big toe, turned them inside out and stitched up the sides to make Tabi :B
The Hakama and Kosode are made out of drill material: I made the white under-kosode separate from the black. The pants are all black aside from the white ties, and made from the 'mens' pattern with front and back ties (so I had one piece I could tie into Matsumoto's bow thing)
The pink thing is made out of some horribly slippery material that I admit to needing help sewing - my overlocker has 2 speeds: fast, and ludicrous speed - and i'm not that great with the overlocker yet.
I totally forgot to bring my Lieutenant badge thing on my trip...
