Ah, my Ghostbuster costume. Made over the course of the summer of '09 with my older brother, this was made with the Village Halloween Parade in mind. However, we didn't really count on it raining, so many of the detail pieces (namely labels) were ruined.
This costume was mostly made from everyday objects, including welding goggles, a flat iron, a shelf piece and even the bottom of a plastic bucket. The most expensive part of the costume was actually the patch set (the 'No Ghost' patch and the custom name patch), which went for about $20 USD per set.
We used an Alice Frame Pack for the main body of the Proton Pack, which with everything on it, weighed in at maybe 10 lbs. The weight isn't all that noticeable, unless you're wearing it for long periods of time.
Updating this by removing the ruined labels and adding new ones as well as reattaching any pieces that may have become loose/fallen off/etc. May also add a few more pieces to the proton pack. It'll probably be a while before the updates are complete due to a lack of funds and work on another cosplay.
No awards, but two members of the NYPD had to ask if the Proton Pack was some sort of bomb. (they loved the costume, but they said they had to ask because some other people might not get it.)
