My second Noah costume! I really love Wisely's character design, and I had a bunch of extra white fabric lying around, so I thought, "why not?"
The majority of this costume is slightly off-white poplin lined with cheap white lining fabric; the purple fabric is sateen. The pants are a modified Simplicity pattern with Wisely's hanging sash and cuffs attached. The shirt (if you can call it that) is loosely based on a bodysuit pattern that I used mostly to make sure the collar lined up correctly. The eye is extra-thin craft foam sandwiching more of the purple sateen.
The turban was more difficult than I'd thought it would be and took me almost a week to get right. It's three seperate parts (a headband and two tails) that attach with pins and velcro. It's heavier than I'd imagined and it's a constant struggle to keep it from pulling my wig too far up on my head.
Speaking of the wig, it's a cut and styled white Scruffy Long. Wisely's hair is truly a nightmare of waves, spikes, and mess, and it was really hard to get it to look right. I'll probably re-style it before Otakon because I'm not 100% happy with it currently.
The last thing I'll add is that I used a staggering amount of body tape to hold this costume onto me. For the most part, it worked really well; the "tattoo" stayed perfectly in place the entire day.
One more thing I'll say about this costume: since Wisely is a (relatively) new addition to D.Gray-man, finding decent reference pictures of him was really difficult! Do you know there are no forward-facing pictures of Wisely in the manga? Additionally, since no color pictures of Wisely have been released, I had to guess at the color scheme. I think the purple works nicely and I'm pretty happy with the overall result.
