This was a lot of fun to make. Largely because it was prop oriented and I love making personal props.

I bought the belt for 75 cents which is what started the costume. I actually bought two belts and cut the other one up to make the rifle bullet holders on the belt. I bought a leather purse and chopped that up to make the holster. I had to cut the whole thing apart and use the cardboard lining to make sure the leather didn't bend. I had to punch holes through to sew/tie the base of the holster on and then super glue the top so you couldn't see the ties. (I had leather on my fingers for days. I used still another belt to add the leg loop to the holster. After all that was done, I mixed some brown and gold paint to give the belt the weathered look and then painted over some with brown paint. After that I took a paper towel to it to leave some of the original belt peaking through.

I bought the other pieces: the blue shirt, the khakis, the black belt. The boots are my sisters, and the necklace is a brown shoelace I bought and tied. The wrist bracelet I made out of another belt. (Sensing a patter?) I cut it up and glued it back together so it would stay closed. I then used fabric from another costume to add the blue bit on top.

I also died my hair and penciled my eyebrows. My hair was copper blond at the time and I feel inclined to mention it because it took 5 days to wash completely out of my hair! I curled it too, but that came out right away.
