This cosplay is the first that required me to style a wig. But after styling the bangs, I cut them off the wig, sew on clips from hair extensions, and the rest is my real hair. Oddly enough, the original wig had red streaks, that when inked black with a Sanford Markette Permanent Marker, created the exact same shade of dark brown that most of my hair naturally is.
There are lots of real red geraniums at my house, but a fake one makes a longer-lasting prop. It's hard to tell, but I actually arranged 2 budding stems at each side of the main flowering stem. There wasn't any room in the display dome for crumpled brown felt as "soil".
The SEEDS pendant is polymer clay: light blue pearl, and "sunshine" with pearl. The red dot is a tribead sunken inside the clay. I also painted 4 beads white, for the string.
Debuting this cosplay at AX2010 made me realize that it would be better to not wear make-up. Especially for Rem, since my skin is naturally a light brown, like hers. I've always been a total novice with make-up and only wear it for cosplay, but I may stop wearing it for cosplay in the future. I had to re-take a lot of the Rem photos later, without make-up, and will probably do a few more replacement photos.
