The Little Mermaid

I have wanted to do this costume FOREVER!!! But there was never a good occasion to wear it to...until we decided to go to the cosplay picnic at center island Toronto! The park is incredibly beautiful, and there was LOTS of water! Plus my friend Straywind was going as Snow White, so I decided to surprise her by showing up as another Disney Princess!
The tail is made of green stretch lame, the fin is aqua organza and satin with foam inside for structure. The waist fin is also organza with white thread detailing. There is an invisble zipper in the side at the bottom to make it a little more mobile XD
I also made a "walkable tail" too, which is featured in the lagoon style shots.
The top is a matte purple satin, with foam inside, then I sewed over top of that to create the shell look. There is also bra cups sewn inside of it to keep the top in place.
The wig is Linda XXL in henna red from cosworx.
The water lily I found at a dollar store and just added a clip to it for my hair.
Much thanks to my best friend Dee, who lent me her Sebastian for the day!!
The photos turned out great!! I feel I look a little tried and worn out in them, due to the fact I was up at 6am to get ready, and it was scorching hot out and the sun was ablaze all day.
I'll probably do more photos of this soon, so I look less zombie-riffic!
It was rather amusing that when I got to the ferry docks, I was wearing my wig, but had normal clothes on, two little girls came up to me with their Mom; appearntley they had been following me around since I got there, telling their Mom I was the real Ariel, LOL! The look on their face was priceless when they saw I had Sebastian with me, and I told them I was looking for Eric! LOL!
Me and Straywind were posing for pics all day on center island with children who thought they had magically entered disney land, I'm glad we brought so much joy to island that day!
