Ordon Village

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Obviously this is not me, but I doubt he will be on this site as much as I am and I did make the costume, so here goes:

The tunic is made out of a really nice white linen, the sleeve and blue wrap are an upholstery suede (I love suede), the pants are a cotton twill fabric, and the green wrap and apron are made of cotton quilting fabric. My idea for this costume was to have a hodgepodge of fabrics that would be available to Ordon villagers. :)

This costume required a lot of embroidery and applique. The tunic's swirl designs were hand embroidered and the blue wrap, green sleeve, leaf apron, and orange tie all have appliqued designs. The swirl designs on the tunic took the longest but I was really pleased with the end result though. The apron used a bit of my older knowledge of quilting. I made up my own pattern for the triangle designs, I even put a bit of batting inside to give it more body.

I made my own ears for this project and actually tried a new technique with them, which surprisingly enough worked really well!

The wig was really easy to style, but after a few hours in LA heat the wig was a little droopy. I had to touch it up every time the costume was worn. :P I guess that's just a necessary evil.
