This costume was made in about 2 weeks of steady sewing. It was pretty much all sewing work. The most complicated part was the belt. The knot is a separate piece that wraps around where the other strips join. I got asked about the scar a lot. I used craft paint mixed with tacky glue, and sort of dabbed it on thickly to give it texture. I think the color came out pretty well, but I didn't like how shiny it was, and a bit more texture would be nice, and there was trouble with it 1) making my eyelid stick open and making it hard to blink 2) as the day wore on, the crease on my eyelid wore away the paint just from blinking. I like how the boots turned out-I just sewed a strip of fabric and glued it on. I'm currently working on the swords, and plotting how to make curly-toed boots.
