Well this costume took forever. I started it by making the skirt back in December of last year. December! I didn't get around to finishing the thing until this month. Ridiculous. Still, I tried to do the best possible job, paying attention to every piddly little detail in the original art. If I had it all to do over again (oh please no) I would use a finer fabric (this fabric was course and fairly thick, which was a pain) with a brighter color, and there are alot of places in the construction that are fairly slapdash or bulky that I would do differently as well. For the photoshoot, I would have paid better attention to how the belts affect the skirt. It's prone to bunching if I move around. If I ever do another photoshoot, I now know what to watch out for. Regardless, I'm proud of the result. It's an amazing, powerful design and I hope I was able to do it some credit.
The construction here is very basic. The shirt is your basic collared shirt with an altered hem and added details. The skirt is, well, a pleated skirt. The belts and such were annoying but not difficult. The megaphone was my first spray paint project involving masking a design, and I think it turned out pretty well. All in all, I'm please, but it took way too long to finish and there are plenty of things I would do differently, after the fact.
