Da Qiao

Dynasty Warriors 5

My first ever girl cosplay XD it turned out well and one of the most expensive projects to date. (fabrics, shoes, socks, paint, and fans...ugh)

fabric used consisted of Chinese brocades, jacaurds, and something i don't even know what it was... the actual sewing took maybe two days to complete. the costume basically had four pieces: the red tank top part, the under white shirt, the skirt, and the top white skirt. i painted the top white skirt design on which took maybe six hours minus practice time. it was deceptively easy.

accesories: the headpiece is made out of foam glued to a tiara comb thing which served as the base. the tassle pin thing is made out of foam as well and the tassles were also hand made. socks were tights that were cut up. shoes: i had bought two pairs and it was easy glue on attachment of the jewels.
fans are a different story. bought fans in a store in Chinatown (tho i think you can probably find them at an adult store...for a pretty penny) and painted them a pink base plus orange gradient. then stenciled on the design which was taken from the base of a Chinese instrument. Flowers are made of foam and resin.

Total time: 2 weeks
Total price: over $150 Canadian
