This came about over the course of the year and kind of happened randomly.

I was unsure whether I was going to attend 'Expo or not this year for various reasons. I ended up deciding to go, but crisis; I didn't have a costume to wear! I didn't really want to wear my Scout costume again and I couldn't be Jade again as my hair was back to it's pillar box red.

So I came up with this, my first original character. I bought the cheongsam from the 'dressing up box' section of my local charity shop for 50p.

I thought my bright red hair would look garish against the simplistic and elegance of the black cheongsam, so I used my Lara Croft wig from my LC costume I bought for my New Years Eve party two years ago.

I already had the Japanese fan, but the paper parasol I bought from one of the charity shops in town for about £5. I already had the shoes (Keds).

It was a comfy costume, albeit a bit chilly at times, mostly when I was outside the ExCeL, but it seemed to go down well with the four Asain guys who took my photo and one who posed with me for a picture!
