The most complicated costume I've ever done, by far! More details will be submitted when I get my pictures back. :)
Over 165 hours and more than $250 went into making this costume. My friends planned a Twilight Princess group with me in mind for Telma, and I was thrilled to realize the challenge in front of me. I really wanted to make a quality Telma cosplay, with a really high level of accuracy and attention to detail. I think I succeeded!
The apron and the jackets are the pieces I'm most proud of. The apron is made of about 25 hours of agonizingly repetitive applique, painstakingly designed and cut to be geometrically precise. A tiny bit of handwork went into the embroidery and tacking on the fake fur. The jacket, however, had two satin-stitched panels that each took about 10 hours to complete, in addition to the cordwork on the back and the pattern alterations. I need to post pictures of the back of the jacket - it turned out beautifully.
The sleeves were made from an old yoga shirt (coincidentally with the perfect texture), lace from my grandmother's collection, and white broadcloth. They were secured with weak plastic snaps that refused to cooperate for most of the day, leading to great frustration and much cursing.
