So, this is the first costume I've ever put together on my own. Most of the others were made by my mother with only a small amount of help from me seeing as my sewing skills are pretty much limited to making pillows and mending holes.
Anyway, I was at Hot Topic and magically on clearance was a dress that instantly screamed at me that it would make a good cosplay for Chii. So, I bought it. Next step was a trip to Michaels to gather materials for the ears. 3 sheets of craft foam, some ribbon, a plastic headband, and a 30 minute drive later found me at home with a hot glue gun looking for Chii ear tutorials online. With the help of a few different ones, the Chii ears came to be.
Many trips to many stores later, I succeeded in getting gloves, tights, and a wig to add more to the costume. I'm looking at the wig and thinking about the best way to cut bangs (thank god for friends who have experience) and realized I didn't have anything for the hair spools. So, back to Michaels I went. I bought wooden spools and some paint. The wooden spools are now painted.
Now, all that's left is to cut the bangs and figure out how to get the hair through the spools with some poofyness at the top part of the spools and I'll finally have my cosplay together.
