I'd like to think I'll never make anything that'll top this. It's not a very good way to think, but I don't really want to stress so much over a costume again.
I had started it months before, but left it until the last two weeks before.
That was a mistake. A big freakin' mistake.
I spent the next ten days living off of saltine crackers and energy drinks, sleeping maybe an hour a night.
Make beads, set out to dry, paint fabric, set aside to dry, sew something else. Is it dry? No, sew something else. Is it dry now? Yeah, paint it again, cut fifty pieces of yarn exactly five inches long. Bore holes in dry beads and paint.
It was a nightmare.
Anyway, I pulled through and finished the damn thing, the night before I had to leave.
I've never been so relieved in my entire life.
Alas, it was short lived. After wearing it twice at AX, I had to seriously refurbish it and didn't bring it out again until a few days before Halloween.
...And after that, it's still going strong. Though, I did lose one of my floaty scarves.
First place in Mt. SAC's Halloween Bash Costume Contest.
Does that count?
