This cosplay is of the basic sound ninja that appear in the Naruto series taking place around the chuunin exams. I made this costume back in January of 2005 after having seen after noticing that as the sound ninja were getting established those cosplaying as sound ninja were only doing Orochimaru, kabuto, etc.

When I was looking up info on the sound ninjas I came across a picture (although tiny) of the basic sound ninja and thought it looked cool. Figuring no one else has cosplayed them yet I decided I would take the liberty of doing so. Then as Fanime 2005 came along I debuted it there and got a few compliments here and there. I felt good about it and took the costume to Anime Expo 2005 where some compliments were also given and I found a good few photo opps with other Orochimaru and kabuto cosplayers.
