Ever After: A Cinderella Story
Last Updated: 12-23-2010
This took 9 months to make including research, I used Metaalic Silver Crinkle Silk, Silver/Grey Taffeta for the bodice & different Lace trims etc for the sleeves. It was a very slow process to make this dress correctly as clsoe to the original. My mother embroidered the Skirt with chain stich like the original, it took months or hard solid work & I sewed on over 1037 pearls on the over skirt alone.
I used what was called draping Satin for the Ivory skirt, which was a nice soft good quality satin & padded the bottom with padding & French knotts, as the original. To replace the Bullion used on the movie version we emboridered our own flower mottifs using the pattern of the original, then highlighted each motiff with backstitch using a shinny Sparkly thread. We also embroidered our own Gold stars for the Net cuffs.
This has been the most time consuming costume created so far & was hard work!!!
