Lady Vader

Female

Star Wars Series

I made this for Thoughtbubble Comic Con, Leeds sat 20 Nov 2010. I promised friends I would join them in a Star Wars group. Originally the costume was going to be regular Darth Vader since I had the helmet and life support chest box, but I decided to modify the cosplay to a female vers - just like femme joker etc - and so Lady Vader was born. I did a sketch first and borrowed some pieces from some of my other costumes. Came out pretty much like I had drew it.
On the day I did full makeup and wig so I could wear the costume without the helmet if I needed. I'm so glad I did, because the helmet really restricted vision indoors - kept bumping into things- and also I felt isolated from everybody else including my friends because there is no eye contact and you can't be heard clearly from inside the helmet. So the helmet only lasted for about 10 mins and then I ditched it, went outside and had loads of fun doing photoshoots. Since Lady Vader is Darkside I went for really dark lips and vamp eyes.
Oh btw during the Con a full size Darth Vader was walking aruond and he was taaaaaaall and had all the sound effect gizmos etc - Im so glad I didn't go as regular Darth Vader because I would have looked silly compared to him. I managed to get a pic standing alongside - Lord and Lady Vader. :P
Then later in the masquerade comp our Star Wars group won a group award. When it finished it was dark outside so we took some more pics with our light sabers on. Coolness. :)

Cosplaying Lady Vader was a lot of fun and the cosplay made a lot of people smile. I would definitely do her again sometime.
