Farnese Vandimion

This looked like an "easy" to whip out costume, and actually turned out to be surprisingly more intricate than expected. Perhaps even "doomed" in certain ways, which is appropriate for Berserk.
On the night of the lunar eclipse, I had made a mistake with the peplum for the coat, and had to completely redo that piece. It got labelled as "sacrificed".

The costume uses linen for the coat and cape. The coat is lined with a thin cotton, because I don't like the polyester linings (too hot!). I tailored the coat pattern to fit me, and the cape pattern came from my Abel/Hazel costume work.
The cravat/tie is linen. This required customizing from my dressage stock tie. "Fun" with pleats!
The shirt is muslin.

I dyed and assembled the belt, yeah for Tandy Leather! And used wonderflex for the decorative tips.

For the boots, I made the instep pieces from two layers of pigskin glued together, that I dyed. And I had to sew a dart through 4 layers to give it a smooth curve across the boot top...uuuugh.
The boot tops were also made from pigskin. I used velcro to secure to the boot so I can use the boots for another cosplay, too.

The gloves are old riding gloves with pigskin gauntlet sections sewn on. I could not find a matching dye, but see what I can do in the future....

The sword and dagger were a lot of work, too. Lots of shaping and sanding. Lots of time with a heat gun and smoothing Friendly Plastic....
Both were hand sawed from 1/4" pine, and I hand beveled the edges to about 1/8". The guards and decorative elements were a combination of wire work with Friendly Plastic shaped around it or MagicSculpt, and/or wood filler over basswood structures. The interlace on the dagger hilt was wire I bent and hammered into shape. The oak leaf on the sword guard is wonderflex.

The scabbards are basswood with 1/4" square dowels at the sides, and fun foam and wonderflex built over that. Then Friendly Plastic and wood filler for the ends, with some wire work for attachments.
