Tsukasa and Kagami Hiiragi

Miko outifits

Lucky Star

Last Updated: 06-08-2011

These are the first costumes we've ever sewn completely from scratch ourselves.

For the tops, we used a yukata that my brother bought in japan as a pattern. Because the white fabric was too thin, we decided to sew red trimmings to the edges to make it look like we had a red kimono underneath rather than sew a whole other one.

The hakama pants were sewn using a pattern we found online.

The wigs were bought from epiccosplay.com. The color seemed a bit light at first, but in person it looks just fine. They're super silky and made of high-quality, heat resistant fibers. It took about 2 and a half hours to figure out how to pull the 36" one into two ponytails without the net showing.

So far, to make each miko outfit costs about $30.
The long wig was $48 and the short wig is $36.
