Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Last Updated: 01-22-2011
Here is my best rendition of the physical embodiment of survivor's guilt.
(Quite possibly the reason I am so fascinated with her character!)
To my knowledge this is the first cosplay attempt of this version of SH:SM Lisa :3
I didn't think to cosplay from Shattered Memories until about a year after it came out, and then I became re-obsessed with it after a replay.
This outfit started out with my bizarre love of her taupe top; for some reason the design just really grabbed me. I also like her flats a lot, though admittedly getting an accurate picture for them was hell...I ended up making my own reference shots based on pictures I took from the game on my TV haha! The game models have yet to be ripped from Shattered Memories because the program which rips the files crashes after the first raw shock. SO, that means that while Cybil and Harry's files exist, Lisa and Cheryl's aren't out yet :< I searched high and low but eventually just went with taking my own (which worked better than I thought it would). Luckily for me, the lovely lady who runs http://silenthillhistoricalsociety.com/ was able to provide me with a scan of from the Japanese Shattered Memories guide (thanks Whitney!!!) That latter image was super helpful as it showed both of Lisa's outfits (as well as her undies lol!) from the front/back and side.
How I made it:
This was pretty simple to throw together, though the individual pieces I used to build the costume or alter took some months to track down. Still when I got right down to it, even lil' ol' me (who takes forever to make the easiest shit) worked on this for 2 nights to finish it. I bought a jacket/shirt set from a thrift shop and completely cut them apart to fashion my new jacket and add a hood on. I bought brown fabric and mock lined the jacket/hood so that it will appear lined. The jacket material is a rayon blend. I picked this material because her jacket drapes a lot and is pretty slinky, so rayon was a great choice :3 Her undershirt is just cotton which I sewed into the shirt and added the brown collar and brown trim at the bottom. The jeans were actually REALLY hard to find! Since the trend is skinny/straight leg pants I could not find bell bottoms that also had slit pockets in the back and had normal pockets in the front. I found them when I wasn't even looking (for 4 bucks) so needless to say I was very happy. They're a bit big on me, which is okay because Lisa is a wee bit skinny fat in places so I didn't want anything to be tight. The shoes are also courtesy of thrifty shopping, but all the detailing is my work.
I made the Ophelia ring for my Cheryl cosplay, so I will be using that for pictures of Lisa because I really love that the game's designers built that dimension into her character.
The wig is a Linda in Fire Red. It's a little orangey/brassy but in pictures that will be toned down thanks to lighting hopefully!
