I've been playing with the idea of doing this costume for a year or so now, and I just recently came to a realization about it.

When I was very young (6 or 8) and the original NES Zelda came out, I used to go out in the woods and pretend to be Link (who wanted to be Zelda? Ick! She just sat around and waited to be rescued. I wanted to fight stuff with swords!). So this cosplay will, in essence, be completing a dream I've had for over 20 years.
