Hokay. So we've been watching Maid Sama in anime club at my college, and I've totally fallen for the series. I've been wanting to cosplay her for about a month. Then I got invited to Cosplay On Ice ((basically a bunch of cosplayers going ice skating)) so I thought What the hell?! I already had the black fabric from a skirt that I never ended up making. This costume ended up being a lot easier than I expected. So here's the breakdown!
Skirt: 4 trapezoids of black fabric, sewn together, sewn to a waist band and hemmed. Then there's a zipper in the back. Easy peasy.
Apron: Curved piece of fabric sewn to a ruffled trim I bought at Hancock, and then sewn to the skirt. Voila!
Undershirt: I sewed a tube of fabric that was maybe twice my measurements, then made casings for elastic at the top and bottom, then put in elastic and I was done.
Collar/Necklace: A piece of black fabric with the same white ruffled trim as the apron, then a ribbon sewn across the middle of the choker. I still have to stitch the bow onto it, though, but that'll be easy. It's held together with hooks and eyes in the back.
Headband: A piece of black fabric with the same white ruffled trim over a headband.
Corset thing: Okay now this was the most difficult. Later, I'm going to take some pics to show you how it's constructed because I'm really not sure how to describe it. It took quite a bit of trial and error, and the fit still isn't quite perfect, but I'm okay with it for now ((considering I have a lot to do this week XP))
