Loved cosplaying as Babydoll! Had this outfit ready for the midnight premiere of the film Sucker Punch.
Bulk of her outfit was made with denim. I found two patterns that closely resembled the top & bottom but had to modify them greatly. First time working with pleats, they can be tricky especially with a thicker material like denim. Then I added the ribbon trim. Small details weren't as easy, like the button snaps which wouldn't cooperate, but I ended up just gluing them on so they are not functional but still serve an aesthetic purpose.
Stockings & wig were purchased. Sightly styled the wig but it was pretty much ready to go!
Shoes are by far my favorite part! I am in love with these!!! I purchased a pair of shoes that closely resembled the ones she wears and then cut/painted them to mimic hers the best I could. I love wearing them too. So comfortable for walking around in all day!
Holster is made from leather. Had someone hand make it for me to my measurements. I am in love! It is a beautiful piece & I wish I could take all the credit for it, but I can not.
Scabbard & Katana were made from an existing Katana my fiance owned that we greatly modified. Had to take out the live blade and replace with a wooden one for Con purposes. Added a hand drawn inscription/design down the blade that is actually a time line of Babydoll's life.
The sheath/scabbard was painted to resemble Babydoll's & then I wrapped a braided cord to attach it to my back. It fits pretty sung.
Pistol is my second favorite part of this whole cosplay. I love how personal it is to her, right down to the little charms. I made the charms from polymer clay & then added them to the gun using gold stretchy cord. The gun is a 1911 airsoft pistol, modeled after what I believe is from WWII. I love this thing! I've been carrying it around my house with me because its just too cool! Drew on the symbols/design onto her barrel by hand.
