Kuja

Trance

Final Fantasy IX

Last Updated: 09-05-2013

So, I planned this cosplay for one unusual reason and that is this: I became at an instant OBESSED with Kuja!!! Like I could not stop drawing him, thinking about him, and etc. So I figured the only way to stop this rather random obsession is to cosplay as him. But the twist was I'd do Trance which not a whole lot of people do.

Okay let's get down to it.
----
So, this was the first full body suit I've made. I also did it without a pattern! Which made it a bit more challenging then it could have been. I gotta say it has some rough edges but over all I am very pleased with the results of it.

I used a total of 6 yards (well it would be 5 1/2 if I didn't mess up quite a bit xP) of fabric, over half the fabric used was to make the body suit alone. There are over 100+ feathers on the body suit. God I was coughing up tiny feathers during the whole process! No joke! The 'butt cape' (for no better terms xD) was dyed using RIT Dye. It took a few days and alot of patence and carefulness with it but over all it gave me the results I was looking for.

The sleves tattered appearance was created by using alot of the white fabric and cutting it to look tattered and worn and simply glueing it onto the sleve. The tail was probaly the easiest to make. I have a wire going through it to make it more movable and what not. (Believe it or not but before the wire the tail was pretty heavy! But now its as light as a feather :D).

Both the sleves and tail are made detachable on this costume. The tail being that it is a pain to put on and take of having the tail out of the way makes it much easier. The sleves are detachable for the same reason and also if I need to cool down cause this costume really make's me over heat! So long as I have a fan or am in an ac'd room I'm good being in it.

This cosplay took a total of at least 4 months to complete.

Ajustments are still being made to this to make it a lot more comfortable and a bit more bearable to wear.

Some of the changes/adjustments made listed below:
+Stronger snap's added.
+Hidden sleeves added.
+Tail Lengthened.
