What do you do when you run out of time and haven't finished your costume? Improvise!

Two days before October Expo I realised I wasn't getting Ciel finished in time. Just a week beforehand, I'd dug this dress (With matching broach!) out of a bin of rubbish old costumes at the charity shop, thinking I would wear it to a particular Halloween party. Expo being the only other place that this wouldn't look odd, I decided to go through my wig collection and see who I could conceivably think of wearing it.

It was Grell or Tieria, and that would have been horrific.

I used the gloves and boots from my Ciel cosplay, and Grell's wig (The new version, which needs styling still - I did this in a massive hurry), glasses chain and waist chain. I picked up a bunch of plastic black bead necklaces for next to nothing, grabbed an old pair of Halloween earrings, and knotted scraps of fabric together to make a boa, and VOILA! Looking back, what with the stripes and the leopard print, it would have made sense to play up the 'circus' aspect more than the 'burlesque' angle I was going for, but for a two-hour cosplay I thought this went quite well. Someone even recognised me (Which was impressive - I didn't recognise me!)
