Ayane wasn't a costume I ever planned to do, but when a friend suggested it to pair with her Kasumi I just couldn't resist! Love that butt-bow.
I had absolutely no idea what direction to go in with the fabric, but Kalasnacks and I stumbled upon this amazing purple stretch suiting...
It was love, my friends. Love at first sight. The color is a little darker than her in-game portrayal but I like it a little better.
I struggled finding an orange brocade in which I liked both the shade AND the pattern...But the one I did end up settling on turned out to be pretty cheap and absolutely beautiful. I used a delightful pink and gold brocade for the butterfly applique (that Kalasnacks was so kind as to sketch the template for) and a shantung for the fabric under the obi.
I'm really pleased with how it turned out. This was my first time doing bootcovers too. I was determined that they would match!
The wig is a little inaccurate, but I decided to go with a style that was a little more flattering to my facial structure.
Also the slit is on the wrong side. DARN IT.
