a random butler

money spent on it: under $10
a simple breakdown what i used:
-the blouse: i used a school girl blouse. really anything white, buttoned, and a collar will do fine. (it'll be main covered by a lot of other things.)
-the tie: i had a silk one...but im a messy person. i got EXTREMELY lucky on finding one. i found one perfectly lying in a 99 cent store near me. it was polyester so i was ok with it.
-the vest: depends on whether you want to make it or not. i found one that my dad had. it was grey. though i highly suggest making one. it wasnt a good sizing on me...
-the coat: uhhh....i REALLY disliked mine. i tried my dad's coat. too big. then my brother's. good, but didn like the back part. for butlers they SOMETIMES have this thing hanging back called a tailcoat. not all butlers have one. but the one my brother had was old and was really a drag. plus moths had gotten to it. so i had to carefully sew the holes up.
-the pants: well after trying on a few long pants, i reached a conclusion: dont EVER wear nylon pants. i prefered (and wore to AX '09) a long black pants made out of 97% cotton and 3% spandex. worked wonders.
-gloves: bought them at a costume shop. i think it was for a vampire cosplay.
-hair: my own. hated it cuz i grew it out and it was SUPER thick. so i will probably post a pic of how i was SUPPOSE to look like.
SUGGESTIONS: i repeat do NOT wear a super thick cosplay when it is the summer times. the only thing i regretted about this cosplay was that the coat and my bindings made me sweat and dancing made it worse. Consider the seasons: spring- u can lose the coat. summer- LOSE the coat. autumn- u can wear the coat..but i suggest u do. halloween for me was freezing. winter- WEAR the coat.
HOW TO WEAR IT: theres no specific way of wearing it but here's one way. for me i wore the blouse, tied the tie, then the vest, popped the collar on the blouse out on top of the vest, finally the coat covering the whole outfit.
if im not specific about something PM me. ill even add it up.
