Tom always wanted to be Edward from Enchanted. To please him I agreed to make the duo from Enchanted but with the white wedding dress.
The fabrics have been bought, as well as the official Disney store exclusive crown and a matching wig.
Used approx. 120 meters of tulle (bridal, normal and glitter bridal), 46M meters organza (crystal and normal), 4 meters of organza with small crystals on it , 8 meters of bridal silk satin and different paint, pearls, stones, ... for the details.
Cost: twice more expensive than thought.
Time: fully completed (everything sumned up) 3 months.
My previous frost fairy underskirt was used and the other underskirts were from different tulle layers (18 in total) to re-create the poofyness of her dress. So in total 20 skirts!
For the occasion and "touch" with the original I made a like I call it: Granny underpants. The white Victorian boots were ordered (then canceled due to the seller), re-ordered but they did not arrive on time so I ended up using last-minute my wedding shoes. (that is also the reason why the swirl skirt is still quite long! :p )
The necklace and earrings are especially made from several jewellery pieces.
I lost most time on making the swirls, they were bias cut and combined per 3 to make 1 big "swirl" - a total of 47 "big swirls" were made. At the back only tulle and organza and the front has all the more shiny fabrics as well.
To make the organza less frizzly I used clear nail polish and hairspray. But according to my latest finding a clear transparent layer of clear paint "layer" spray should do the trick as well. Thus the swirls will be more stiffer which relates to less frizzling at the end.
Then the hardest part: the corset. a steampunk corset pattern was taken as a base. Which eventually changed into a 4th and final version. (making the side parts higher for the sleeves - trying out making separate cups which ended up as a failure) As I did not find the right pattern it was basically up to me to find the solution which tend to be quite interesting! Having bigger boobs then the original Giselle does not help it either >_<" so I ended up using a real bra (hidden in the corset) as a base.
Later on the corset was painted, Swarovski Crystal AB bicons pearls and sequins were added. (The flower between the bra cups is actually an orchid - based on the petals)
The sleeves are made from 2 layers crystal organza combined with the small crystal stone organza. No bridal satin fabric is used as it is heavier (tried it with the first version plus on the photos you can see it is organza).
The gloves were made by me based on my own taken measurements and a try-out.
Wig styling: I ended up using the "look" she has when she meets the old man in the movie. When you see the photos from the internet and also the shots in the movie it changes all the time! (places of the flowers, crown vs. no crown and ribbon vs. no ribbon) The same for the dress (example bow vs. no bow and poofyness of the dress) On the internet they claim to have made 4 versions which also explains the differences I found on the right panel skirt side. Also she has different skirt "thickness".
First "try-out" was done Sunday at FACTS 2012 which desperately needed to be changed and it was! Final version at Japan Expo Belgium!
received finally my white Victorian boots this Tuesday!
