The best part about this costume was making the staff! That was when I first discovered my love and talent (?) for prop making. We went to Michael's to buy a foam globe, a bell, some molding clay, and paint. Then got a dowel. The globe took forever to finish because I wanted it to have a hard exterior and not look just like painted foam. So I covered it with this plaster stuff and then I had to sand it down to get it to look smooth. The handel I made by rolling the plaster stuff and wrapping it around several times. I cosntructed the rose out of modeling clay and super glued it. The bell was tied to fishing line and my dad somehow figured out how to get it to come up through the top of the globe. Painted, stuck the globe on the dowel, and "Wa-lah!" It was exciting my first time making something. No one recognized me though! I was surprised but people still liked the costume. I straightened my hair for this, too. No wig needed. I might not be able to wear it for a while though because, of course, I spilled something on the white costume and I still haven't bothered to get it cleaned. -_-
