This is my first time going into the world of sewing a costume...and it's been one hec of a ride! Since my cousin and I practically have Suzaku and Nunnally's hair naturally we decided to cosplay them for this year. After much debate I finally settled on his R2 Uniform...I know it's a bit overdone but with my own-super tailored version made with the materials I choose, I think it will look pretty good. Plus I'm creating a plastic sword for it, which I'm really excited about. I've sculpted things before but this will be my first time working with plastic. Hopefully it's not a disaster. My step-mom is making the turtleneck thing, gloves, and pants. That leaves me and a coalition of family and friends to try and puzzle together his stupid double-breasted tailcoat. What WOULD help is if there were a pattern for it somewhere...but no, of course, that would be too easy. So, trying the impossible with my indomitable spirit, we are not only going to have to sew the suit on our own, but alter our own patterns for it. Trust me, I'm the only one being optimistic about this. But I have a challenger's soul and a body willing to acheive anything! For the gold patterns I've already decided that I'm not even going to ATTEMPT to sew them on. I got gold spray-on fabric paint so all I have to do is stencil them, use my dad's amazing tools to cut out the stencils and PRESTO! I'll have my fancy gold designs. Better get hurrying on this one...
